As a symbol of furiously timeless modernity, the Manufacture’s precious timepiece reveals on its luminous face the unique spectacle of a whirling tourbillon at the heart of a diamond-covered decor.

It is almost an illusion, so fascinating is its beauty. The latest masterpiece to emerge from Breguet‘s workshops in the Vallée de Joux, the spectacular Classique Tourbillon 3358 combines the lyricism of technique, embodied by the complex regulator invented by the founder of the Maison over two centuries ago, with the precious expertise of gem-setting. And it’s all enhanced by the harmonious arrangement of each element displayed on its luminous face.

In fact, the gold dial is covered with diamonds of different sizes using the snow-setting technique. In the upper part, a ring of natural white mother-of-pearl carries the black Arabic hour numerals, overlaid by a pair of small blued hands with hollowed knobs, following as always the stylistic language developed by Abraham-Louis Breguet as early as 1775. In the lower part, an ovoid opening encircled by white gold reveals the tourbillon and its pavé barrette, rounded like a smile. The presence of diamonds extends to the bezel, the lugs, the crown and even the folding clasp that finishes the sky-blue alligator leather strap. The white gold case with its delicately fluted case middle measures 35mm in diameter and 9.4mm thin, and houses the 187D caliber. This hand-wound mechanical movement, assembled from 168 components, vibrates at the gentle frequency of 2.5hz and delivers a 50-hour power reserve. Visible through the sapphire crystal caseback, the plate is decorated with fine piquetwork that gives the material reflections similar to the ashen surface of the Moon.

The Manufacture has chosen platinum, the “metal of kings”, to adorn its emblematic watch, which, in addition to the ballet of a tourbillon, displays both regular and solar time, as well as a perpetual calendar.

True to his pioneering spirit, Abraham-Louis Breguet (1747-1823) introduced platinum, then unknown in watchmaking, into the manufacture of his watches, first in 1780 for the oscillating weight, then for the case around a quarter century later. The metal, praised as much for its luminous gray hue as for its resistance to corrosion and scratches, continues its adventure within the Breguet collections, now adorning the emblematic Marine Equation Marchante 5887.

This timepiece symbolizes the technical power of the brand by combining several complications accompanied by the ballet of a tourbillon: the équation marchante and the perpetual calendar. The former simultaneously displays on the dark dial, decorated with a guilloché “waves” pattern, the difference between civil time (used in everyday life) and solar time (which is irregular) by means of two central hands, one with a hollowed-out knob and the other finished with a gold ring. The second acts like a mechanical diary, revealing the date (anchor-shaped arrow hand), day, month and leap years (apertures at 10:30 and 1:30). The complex regulator, meanwhile, dances freely in an opening at 5 o’clock. The self-winding 581 DPE caliber, whose peripheral weight is also in platinum, brings this array of functions to life, while providing a substantial 80-hour power reserve. It is housed in a case with a delicately fluted case middle measuring 43.9mm in diameter and 11.8mm thin.

Two limited editions flaunting elegant personalities, certified by the Poinçon de Genève (Geneva Seal), combine the manufacture’s know-how and the talent of métiers d’art craftspeople.

Vacheron Constantin‘s watchmakers draw their inspiration from Hellenic mythology, in particular, Chronos, the father of Time, to center stage a fascinating creation. The Les Cabinotiers Le Temps Divin watch literally conjures up the Greek god. Its 45 mm-diameter case, carved in rose gold and adorned with finely-sculptured friezes, takes on the role of a temple to protect an exceptional caliber, the 1990. A white-gold-fashioned variation, also hand-engraved around the sides, invites to discover an equally-stylish alternative.

This manual-winding movement, which first appeared in the up-to-the-minute Maître Cabinotier retrograde armillary tourbillon in 2016, breathes life into the same features but, this time round, in a decisively more traditional scenography. During the 60-hour cycle of power reserve delivered by this sophisticated movement, assembled using some 299 components, its bi-axial regulating device nestling in two aluminum cages whirls. As a reminder, its cylindrical balance spring is inspired by the work of Jacques-Frédéric Houriet, who invented it back in 1814. The duo of hour and minute hands ticks over a semi-circle decorated with Roman numerals over this same period. Once they’ve completed their respective journey, each flicks back to zero and starts their relentless dance of time again. What’s more, the sapphire-crystal caseback catches the gaze with its visible geometric-patterned guilloché-engraved bridges and mainplate. This harmonious decor illustrates that a fine watchmaking piece is to be delighted in from every perspective, down to the tiniest detail.

With this exclusive limited series rolled out in just 255 pieces, the two brands pursue their partnership rooted in legendary motor racing.

3,373 kilometers of tarmac, tracks and dust. From the word ‘go’ back in 1950, the Carrera Panamericana enjoyed astounding success. One hundred and thirty-two competitors took to the starting line in Mexico behind the wheel of racers created by illustrious automotive manufacturers of the times. One of them would take on this eloquent name for its production. As such, Carrera would become synonymous with prestige at Porsche. The rally came to an end in 1954 as it was deemed dangerous. In 1963, Heuer launched a chronograph which it also named Carrera, as a tribute to this mythical race. To revive the legend, the event kicked off again in the Mexican capital in a safe version in 1988. Thirty-six years on, the design of the Carrera Chronograph Tourbillon x Porsche Panamericana imagined by TAG Heuer takes its inspiration from the stylistic details of the Porsche 550 Spyder which won the Pan-Am in its category.

In a nutshell, the dial conjures up the car’s wheel rims, the silver hues its bodywork and the yellow-lacquered hands and black counters take on the racer’s colors. In this hyper-engineering-styled scenography, a tourbillon whirls at 6 o’clock. This regulating device, epitomizing fine watchmaking, mingles brilliantly with the sporty look of the watch set off by a perforated calfskin strap. The 42 mm-diameter steel case adorned with a “Spyder” logo hosts the TH20-09 caliber. This highly-accurate selfwinding movement also stands out through its great endurance. Its 65-hour power reserve invites to head out on the road without ever losing the notion of time.

The brainchild of New York artist KAWS and emblematic character that combines Mickey Mouse and Jolly Roger sneaked in through the workshops of the Le Brassus manufacture to appear on the dial of a very exclusive edition.

Under the pseudonym KAWS hides Brian Donnelly, a specialist in reinterpreting pop culture icons such as The Simpsons and Mickey Mouse, among others. In fact, it’s Disney’s famous rodent that the New York artist has remodeled, fusing with certain graphic elements of Jolly Roger, the skull over two crossed tibias that fly the pirate flag, to give birth to a character with X-shaped eyes. This figurine has been brought to the Audemars Piguet workshops in the form of a special edition available in 250 pieces: the Royal Oak Concept Tourbillon “Companion” watch.

Companion is the face of the watch, set against a titanium plate and protected by a sapphire crystal disk. In the center of its t-shirt, like a beating heart, an opening reveals a tourbillon. Two luminescent triangles, driven by a superposition of toothed wheels, circulate around his gloved hands and bone-shaped ears to display the hours (solid hand) and minutes (hollowed-out hand).

These discreet but clearly visible indications, together with the complex regulator, are set to the rhythm of the Calibre 2979, a hand-wound 3hz movement with a 72-hour power reserve. The embossed figure is housed in a 45mm-diameter, 17.4mm-thick titanium case, which is encircled by a large crown featuring a series of X-stamped screws. The various finishes – sandblasted, satin-finished and polished – exacerbate the architectural dimension of the whole, which is worn on the wrist with an interchangeable strap in grey or slate calf leather, depending on the option chosen.

The rhinoceros, a herbivorous mammal with a large body covered in thick brownish skin and short, chubby legs, is a threatened species, some of which are on the brink of imminent extinction. It is a victim of human hands obsessed by the lure of profit. The reason for this poaching? The horn or horns of this peaceful animal, a solid mass of keratin perched on its snout, to which some people attribute various fanciful virtues. SORAI, the acronym for Save Our Rhinos Africa & India, is an association founded in 2018 by former cricketer and Hublot ambassador Kevin Pietersen to fight for the protection of this giant weighing around 4 tons. The Nyon manufacture is reiterating its support with the creation of a 4^th dedicated timepiece, the Spirit of Big Bang Tourbillon 5-Day Power Reserve SORAI.

In keeping with the collection’s own codes, this exclusive edition, produced in just 30 pieces, features a curvy tonneau-shaped case (42mm), machined in taupe ceramic, including bezel and caseback. Polished and bead-blasted, this shade oscillates between grey and brown, inspired by the rhinoceros’s epidermis. It frames a transparent face that reveals the architectural graphics of the hand-wound HUB 6020 caliber. This elaborate, one-of-a-kind fine watchmaking piece saw the light of day in the manufacture’s workshops thanks to an original concept proposed by an apprentice watchmaker, Loris Spitzer.

A two-toned globe, offset towards 9 o’clock, on the varnished Obsidian dial of IWC‘s Portugieser Hand-Wound Tourbillon Day & Night, completes its revolutions in 24 hours on its own axis, totally in tune with the rotations of the golden hour and minute hands. At the same time, a flying tourbillon twirls in one minute at 6 o’clock. Even though this device, imagined to limit the effects of the Earth’s gravity, flaunts some 56 components, it only weighs 0.675 grams. To optimize its running, its parts are topped with Diamond Shell^® technology. This silicon-diamond coating significantly reduces friction while improving energy transmission to the inner workings of caliber 81925. As such, this hand-wound movement delivers a comfortable power reserve of 84 hours. The existence of a sapphire-crystal caseback invites to admire its baseplate decorated with circular Côtes de Genève designs. The regulating device and the stylized portrayal of Earth are also unveiled in their entirety.

This mechanical architecture reigns inside a 42.4 mm-diameter, 750/1000 Armor Gold^® case. This alloy, comprising 75% pure gold stands out from red gold through its greater hardness and resistance to wear and tear. The Parisian maison takes a new ride into high horology territory by combining two complex mechanisms in one watch – a three-axes tourbillon and a minute repeater – offered in rose gold or platinum.

Each timepiece imagined by Hermès carries with it aesthetic references, generally linked to its past, perfectly in tune with the playful spirit with which the Parisian company approaches the question of time. These faithful, mischievous notes, placed here and there, turn up onto the Arceau Duc Attelé watch, the model presented at the Geneva Watches and Wonders trade show and limited to 24 pieces with a 43mm-diameter case in rose gold and 24 in titanium. This timepiece showcases the brand’s technical expertise, while retaining its signature stylistic touch.

It combines two complex mechanisms: a three-axes central tourbillon, with three different rotation speeds (300, 60 and 25 seconds), fitted with a titanium triple cage featuring the double H, symbol of the marriage between Emile Hermès (1878-1951) and Julie Hollande in 1900 (1878-1961), and a minute repeater with tuning fork, i.e. two elongated U-shaped arms that run along the flange and are struck by two hammers with a horse profile at 6 o’clock, diffusing a particular musicality thanks to the sapphire crystal bridge. This duo of devices is integrated into the H1926 caliber, a high-frequency (5hz) hand-wound mechanical movement with carriage-like gears that delivers a 48-hour power reserve. This stored energy is indicated at the bottom of the dial, which is decorated with navy aventurine glass or a graphic guilloché pattern evoking sound waves and tinted  anthracite. Two peripheral blued hands run around a wide ring on which Arabic numerals in the typography typical of the Arceau collection display the hours and minutes.

By embracing two chronographs, this new model boasts independent, split-second, cumulative, and lap-timer mode. And, thanks to upgrading it with a flyback function, it can now sequence series of time measurements easily and ever-so quickly. On top of the visual enchantment sparked when discovering this new LM Sequential Flyback Platinium, a yearning to play with the pushers dotted around the middle of the 44 mm-diameter platinum-sculpted case reigns.

Its complex manual-winding movement, assembled using some 619 components, delivers a power reserve of 72 hours. A display on the watch back lets the wearer know how much energy’s left. This caliber meticulously drives the ballet of the chronograph hands, as well as the hour and minute ones, ticking by on a tilted disc at 6 o’clock. And, just like with traditional chronographs, each pair of seconds and minutes counters comes with its own buttons. The fifth pusher set at 9 o’clock and known as Twinverter, “controls both chronograph systems, operating as a binary switch that inverts the current start/stop status of each chronograph. This means that if both chronographs are stopped, pressing the Twinverter causes both of them to start simultaneously. If they are both running, the Twinverter makes them stop. And, if one is running and the other is stopped, the Twinverter stops the one that is running and starts the one that is stopped”, specifies the brand. Time has never been this fascinating.
