Since 1988, the watchmaker’s mythical ambassador has played a dominant role in collections with references flying high his favorite colors. This chronograph equipped with a one-minute tourbillon also comes with some of the main personality traits of the F1 legend: rigor and precision. The TH20-09 caliber (65 hours of power reserve) drives the time data meticulously. This selfwinding movement measures short-cycle time to ¼ of a second and nestles inside a 44 mm-diameter grade 2 titanium case topped with a forged carbon fixed bezel featuring a tachymetric scale. The openworked dial flaunts brushed and grained finishes that center stage the relief-style scenography. The hues of the Brazilian flag jazz up this monochrome scenescape, dressing the counters placed at 3 and 9 o’clock, as well as the 60-second graduated scale running round the edge. An illustration of Senna on the caseback pays tribute to the champion.

Panda dial or reverse panda dial? The Geneva watchmaker deploys his creativity to juggle shades of natural mother-of-pearl to create new contrasts between light and shadow on a pair of diamond-set watches.

The Oyster Perpetual Cosmograph Daytona watch was originally designed for motor racers, to fit comfortably on drivers’ wrists when it was launched in 1963, but has learned to reinvent itself over time. Indeed, this emblematic model in the Rolex collections now boasts a more sophisticated style, as confirmed by the two models presented this year. The tachymeter scale on the bezel is replaced by a ribbon of 36 brilliants, steel by white gold, and the dial plays with natural mother-of-pearl to create a a contrast between light and shadow.

Like a color image in negative, the iridescent face of this duo elegantly redefines the terms “panda” and “reverse panda”: the three counters (small seconds at 6 o’clock, 30-minute and 12-hour chronograph totalizers at 3 and 6 o’clock respectively) are in black mother-of-pearl on a white background or, conversely, in white mother-of-pearl on a dark disc. To make the most of every reflection, the hour-circle features eight diamond hour-markers and three Chromalight applied ones that diffuse a bluish glow in the dark, swept by the central hour, minute and second hands. The case, 40mm in diameter and 11.90mm thick, is fitted with a screwed caseback, Triplock crown and pushers to guarantee water resistance to a depth of 100m. It houses caliber 4131, a high-performance automatic movement unveiled in 2023 that provides a substantial 3-day energy reserve when fully wound.

As the World Championship events get underway, the brand showcases a limited-edition chronograph celebrating a major date in the Alpine ski calendar.

Longines has been present on ski slopes the world over since 1924 timing athletes’ runs. Thanks to this expertise, in 2006, the firm became the Official Partner and Official Timekeeper of the International Ski Federation (FIS). So, it’s only normal then for the winged-hourglass brand to accompany the 2024-2025 season races such as the FIS 48 ^th Alpine World Ski Championships organized from February 4 to 16, 2025 in the prestigious Saalbach resort in Austria. As a prelude to this key event, a Conquest Chrono Ski Edition has just been rolled out.

As per the firm’s tradition, time data reading is excellent in any conditions. With this exclusive limited series rolled out in just 255 pieces, the two brands pursue their partnership rooted in legendary motor racing.

3,373 kilometers of tarmac, tracks and dust. From the word ‘go’ back in 1950, the Carrera Panamericana enjoyed astounding success. One hundred and thirty-two competitors took to the starting line in Mexico behind the wheel of racers created by illustrious automotive manufacturers of the times. One of them would take on this eloquent name for its production. As such, Carrera would become synonymous with prestige at Porsche. The rally came to an end in 1954 as it was deemed dangerous. In 1963, Heuer launched a chronograph which it also named Carrera, as a tribute to this mythical race. To revive the legend, the event kicked off again in the Mexican capital in a safe version in 1988. Thirty-six years on, the design of the Carrera Chronograph Tourbillon x Porsche Panamericana imagined by TAG Heuer takes its inspiration from the stylistic details of the Porsche 550 Spyder which won the Pan-Am in its category.

In a nutshell, the dial conjures up the car’s wheel rims, the silver hues its bodywork and the yellow-lacquered hands and black counters take on the racer’s colors. In this hyper-engineering-styled scenography, a tourbillon whirls at 6 o’clock. This regulating device, epitomizing fine watchmaking, mingles brilliantly with the sporty look of the watch set off by a perforated calfskin strap. The 42 mm-diameter steel case adorned with a “Spyder” logo hosts the TH20-09 caliber. This highly-accurate selfwinding movement also stands out through its great endurance. Following on from its highly-colorful version, the brand rolls out an upgrade of its dive watch whose design is inspired by a timepiece from its rich heritage equipped with a decompression table.

With its Ocean Star Decompression Timer, unveiled for the first time back in 2020, MIDO immerses itself in its past by reinterpreting one of its iconic 1960s models. This 1961-piece limited series pursues its route with all the qualities of its elder sibling, in particular its decompression table hosted around the center of its matte black dial. Four yellow-, green-, pink- and blue-hued rings make up this tool which lets the wearer know maximum immersion time for various depths – 25 m, 30 m, 35 m and 40 m, without the need for a decompression stop. You just need to read the division of the related minutes. Its position on the azure blue circle means the diver can only stay down at between -36 and -40 meters for 9 minutes, for example, on the way back up.

The watch nestles inside a 40.5 mm-diameter, PVD-treated steel case, waterproof to depths of 200 meters. A unidirectional rotating bezel with notched aluminum ring enhances safety even more when heading down for an adventure on the seabed. Data is still wonderfully-easy to read thanks to the widespread use of Super-LumiNova^® on the scale numerals. Time data is driven by the high-performing Caliber 80 which delivers a comfortable 80-hour power reserve. With this duo of timepieces designed for borderless adventure in collaboration with the Japanese brand, the watchmaker from Le Locle takes wrists on a journey to the end of style.

The end of the year is fast approaching, and is the perfect excuse to open wide the doors of the world, to fly away to the gentle warmth of the southern hemisphere or, on the contrary, to seek the coolness of the northern lands, with a Pilot x Porter from Zenith on your wrist. The Le Locle watchmaker recently unveiled two watches designed in collaboration with the Japanese travel accessories specialist: the Pilot Central Automatic Porter and the Pilot Big Date Flyback Porter, each limited to 500 pieces.

Heir to Zenith‘s long relationship with aviation, the Pilot, which was modernized in 2023, borrows the emblematic colors of the Japanese brand’s color chart by dressing its cases – 40mm for the automatic version, 42.5mm for the chronograph – in olive-green ceramic. The same hue covers the dials, which feature horizontal lines and a flock of large luminescent Arabic numerals. A few touches of orange adorn the central hour, minute and seconds hands and, for the Big Date Flyback, the small seconds counter (at 9 o’clock) and totalizer (at 3 o’clock). At 6 o’clock, the date appears in white in a single or double window, depending on the reference. These two new models beat to the rhythm of high-frequency (5hz) automatic El Primero movements, caliber 3620 for the three-hand and 3652 for the chronograph, and both deliver 60 hours of autonomy when fully wound. They can be worn either on two strands of Cordura-effect rubber and a PVD-blackened steel folding clasp, or on a nylon fabric strap closed by a Velcro® band.

The collection unveiled in 2023 welcomes two new timepieces equipped with the flyback chronograph function developed by the watchmaker from Saint-Imier almost a century ago and enhanced with touches of gold.

Throughout history, man has imagined wings to navigate among birds and stars. Made of feathers, canvas or metal, he gradually refined his wings until the beginning of the 20^th century, when his prolific creativity was transformed into reliable aircraft prototypes. The boom was sudden, and in 1925, to accompany the explorers of the skies, Longines developed a function associated with that of the chronograph, making it possible to measure a succession of short beats, stop a count and restart a new one with a single push: flyback, for which it filed a patent a decade later. In 2023, this mechanism was integrated into one of the Saint-Imier-based brand’s collections to become a range in its own right, Spirit Flyback, which this year welcomes two new timepieces.

Measuring 42mm in diameter and 17mm thick, the steel case common to these variants is punctuated with elements – rotating bezel, screw-down crown and control pushers – in gold, yellow to sublimate the green dial and rose to enhance the brown. The smoky hues of these faces highlight the azure finish of their counters, the small seconds at 9 o’clock and the minute totalizer powered by the central second hand. As the Spirit Flyback is a pilot’s watch, the oversized Arabic numerals are coated with Super-LumiNova®, as are the hour and minute hands. All these functions are provided by the L791.4 column-wheel caliber, a COSC-certified automatic movement that delivers 68 hours of autonomy when fully wound.
